A trust with a long name and huge reach.
Thousands of employees provide hundreds of healthcare services to around a million people across several sites. It all adds up to a compelling proposition for clinical and non-clinical professionals. And we needed to create an employer brand to breathe life into it, in a way that spoke to people in vastly differing roles.
With such a large Trust, we needed to pinpoint common themes. The qualities everyone shares. The recurring reasons people joined – and stayed. That shared passion that unites them all. And, to draw them out, we listened to voices from every corner of the Trust.

Our research told us this is a sprawling place where people come together as one team. It’s the chance to make a bigger impact on more lives, change worlds on their doorstep and grab opportunities with both hands.
Whether it’s to each other or to patients, the commitment here is wholehearted, not fainthearted. This message was used to underpin an employer brand that didn’t shy away from the realities of life. It became a badge of honour that celebrated those already making a difference here – and engaged the people we wanted to attract.


What we learned
With an NHS Trust of this size, it can be difficult for potential external and internal candidates to navigate their way through career options here. And we needed to highlight the sheer breadth of roles too. So, we took a big colour palette and provided clearly coloured signposts to give each area the recognition it deserved across a variety of online and print materials.
