How to stay ahead in a competitive market

In the run up to Christmas, Yodel recruit around 5,000 drivers.

This alone is a big ask. But with an increasing number of competitors in the market, this ask became that bit bigger.

So we set out to understand as much as we could about each and every one of them, to ensure Yodel was a step ahead going in to their peak recruitment period:

  • We identified the competition
  • We assessed their offer – salary, rewards & benefits, employer value proposition
  • We reviewed their attraction activity
  • We carried out some mystery shopping – careers site review, application process, candidate engagement

We used this insight to:

  • Assess and refine Yodel’s media strategy
  • Benchmark their remuneration and benefits package
  • Pre-empt hot spot locations and roles
  • Ensure they had a clear and consistent EVP across all candidate comms
  • Refine their application process.
